Description

Medium Cell Size PMI Structural Foam
Rifeng W is a closed-cell rigid PMI foam based on Polymethacrylimide (PMI) polymer, that is completely free of CFC's. It features a Medium Cell Size, specifically developed for use as a structural core in vacuum infusion processes such as VARI and RTM.

Rifeng W achieves an optimal compromise between low resin absorption (about 35% less than Rifeng WH) and satisfactory bonding of the facings to the core. With outstanding mechanical strength, it is widely used in UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) structures, radomes, and automotive sandwich panels.

In medical technology, Rifeng W is the industry-standard core material for X-ray and CT table tops due to its excellent radiolucency. Additionally, high-density Rifeng W grades are suitable for underwater buoyancy materials and deep-sea engineering.

Processing and Production Stability
The optimized cell structure makes Rifeng W particularly suitable for curing temperatures up to 130 °C and pressures up to 0.7 MPa. For more demanding cycles, the heat-treated Rifeng W-HT can withstand curing temperatures of 180 °C at 0.7 MPa.

Maximum Weight Saving
Rifeng W features a Medium Cell Size structure that ensures minimal resin uptake at the surface where cells are cut open during shaping. By reducing resin penetration by 35% compared to the WH series, it significantly lowers the final part weight and overall production cost.

Thermoforming and Shaping
Rifeng W can be easily thermoformed or CNC machined to meet stringent customer requirements. We provide high-precision, pre-shaped, and ready-to-use foam cores in simple or complex geometries.
