Rifeng PMI foam cores is easy molding and mechanical processing
Composites processing technology could be classified according to the way to apply the pressure, how to increase the temperature and how to apply the resin. More details can be combined with the type of mold, such as single-side mold, close mold, winding process on the mandrel when producing the circular parts or bead and cove planks used in shipbuilding so on.
At present, there are many ways to give the compression commonly in the composite processing, such as autoclaving, vacuum pressure, press molding and so on. Heating methods include oven heating (air convection heating), conductive heating (i.e. tooling heating) and infrared heating.
The resin can be the formats of film, liquid resin with hand lay-up, liquid resin for infusion, resin fiber or prepreg.
Various heating, pressure and resin introducing approaches could be combined to get the various composite processes. For example, the prepreg autoclaving process is using the autoclave pressure, vacuum pressure, oven heating and resin pre-coated on the fiber. Pressure molding RFI process uses mold-compressing, resin film, heating via tooling.
For a certain process, we can combine various heating, pressurization or resin intervening approaches. For example, NLR in the study of aircraft composite cover, using a combination of prepreg and RTM method, mold heating and compression.
Rifeng polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam has good thermodynamic properties, can be compatible with a wide range of resin systems, finalize the co-curing of the composite sandwich structure. The resin could be prepreg or the wet process such as RTM technology.
Rifeng PMI rigid foam is distinguished by its excellent specific strength properties. It can be machined without lubricants on fast running wood or plastic processing machines and thermoformed at low cost.
